Plasterers are responsible for the process of creating plasterwork which is also referred to as plastering or rendering. Plastering includes construction or animation done with plaster, such as a layer of plaster on an interior or exterior wall structure, or plastering decorative moldings on ceilings or walls. The tools and materials used by plasterers include trowels, floats, hammers, scratching tools, utility knives, lime, sand, a variety of cements, and various ingredients to form color washes. Most plasterers have their own preference for the size of trowel they use. Another tool that is often used is a large brush that is used to splash water onto the wall and to clean the tools of the plasterer.
