River Club is a suburb of the Johannesburg Municipality and includes neighbours such as Bryanston, New Brighton, Parkmore and Morningside. The N1 Western Bypass is not far away to the north and the M1 Pretoria Main Road is close to the west of the suburb. These two main roads meet up at the Buccleuch Interchange, making it easy for the residents of River Club to travel to Johannesburg as well as to Pretoria. This suburb is a peaceful and quite area as these main roads are a fair distance away, drowning out the noise of the traffic.
This suburb is home to people that fall into the category of the middle to upper class citizens. The River Club Golf Club is regarded as one of the most exclusive golf clubs in the country; it is also a private club that is not open to the general public. Money is not a problem when it comes to the upkeep of the greens, which makes it a superb experience for all those that are fortunate enough to be members.
River Club is a suburb that does not have any big shopping malls, but it is within a mere 12 minute drive from Sandton, where there are ample shopping opportunities available. Many of the immediate surrounding suburbs also provide a number of shopping centres. There are no schools available in River Club itself, but residents will not have to travel far to find many schools, as there are plenty in the surrounding suburbs.
